SUBJECTS AVAILABLE IN 2015/2016:

Autumn 2015: Church History

This subject sketches an overview of the history of the church starting from the Book of Acts and the day of Pentecost through to the birth of the Pentecostal Church in the 20th Century. The topics covered include the Apostolic period, Paul's church planting, the Roman Empire and persecution of the church, the east and west divide, the Reformation, Catholicism and Protestantism and much more (14 weeks).

Spring 2016: Christian Doctrine

This subject aims to explore and discuss the key doctrines that define the Christian faith. In this subject, we learn about our Humanity, our Creator and Heavenly Father, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the person and work of The Holy Spirit, and the Church. We address each topic on the basis of Scripture and its theological development over the course of history. We then apply this to our modern day perspective; for you personally and our Christian community (14 weeks).

Summer 2016: Spirit Filled Living

This subject covers many aspects of the Holy Spirit including Jesus and the Holy Spirit, gifts of tongues and interpretation, learning to minister in power, divine healing, laying on of hands, baptism of the Holy Spirit and walking in the Holy Spirit (7 weeks).

SUBJECTS AVAILABLE IN 2016/2017:

Autumn 2016: Mission & Culture

This subject explores the world of Missions, and how Christian mission has developed and morphed in different cultures throughout history. You will examine topics such as worldview, western and non-western mission and missions in Australia. Cross cultural communication and intercultural relationships will also be studied in the light of our globalised world, giving you tools and insight into effective missions in the 21st century (14 weeks).

Spring 2017: Biblical Studies (Exodus & Psalms)

This subject takes an in-depth look at key scriptures which shape our understanding of life with God. These two very different books of the Bible provide an insight into the character of Israel, a people freed from slavery and called to live as a community marked by justice, worship and the faithful presence of their Redeemer. Together the Psalms and Exodus act as pillars for our understanding of the Old Testament, providing a context for the mission of Jesus and offering timeless wisdom into today's complex world. This subject is designed to guide students through the testimony of Israel's encounters with the living God, and apply the principles from the journey to everyday Christian life (14 weeks).

Summer 2017: Biblical Studies (The Book of Revelation)

Our final class is a considered excursion through the Book of Revelation. We will bring this remarkable book to life as we explore the language, imagery and events featured throughout its writing. These sessions will challenge you as you comprehend that Jesus is more than who we realise (7 weeks).
